Finishing up my some of my 2012 sessions and orders! It’s funny how I had some web files prepared before Caitie placed her order. She just happened to pick from the same images that I had selected!! It’s a little game I play to see if my favorites are my clients favorites. ;) It’s important to me that my clients really see and love my vision of what is a great photograph. That’s how you know you are a great fit with your photographer. Choosing a photographer because you love their work (and not necessarily for their pricing) is SO important. I absolutely ADORE these images of Caitie and I know hands down they will be cherished forever.
The image below was featured on Learn Shoot Inspire for their December 15th “One A Day”. I feel so honored to have had some of my images be featured on their Facebook page. I am so proud to receive recognition for this image in particular. I feel like in such a short time, I have taken my Maternity work to another level and I’m so excited to be able to offer my clients such beautiful remembrance of their final weeks carrying their babies. <3
This past month, Caitie and Janece have allowed me to fall in love with Maternity Photography. I only wish I had images like these while I was pregnant with my Dylan (I was “not interested” in maternity portraits at the time and completely regret that decision). I have learned an incredible amount this year about business, technique, editing, lighting, equipment and how to make my clients incredibly happy. 2013 will bring on some changes for my business, including more learning (it never stops!), more growth and with that a different pricing structure that gives my clients more control over purchasing a la carte vs. packages only. As with any business, my growth will also bring forth a price increase to help me continue to give my clients the best quality and service that I can.
After going completely digital in 2012, I have made a promise for 2013 that my clients will receive a 4×6 professional print with each digital file purchase. I’m sure many of my 2012 clients have not printed their images yet (I’ve done it with my own family images) and it’s so important to fill your home, office, grandma and grandpas house, etc with your portraits. Even if it’s a slow build (say over baby’s 1st year), you will never get tired of seeing your baby the way he or she was during their first year. I have canvases all over my house of Dylan at his newborn session, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. His 18 months and 2 year portraits are to follow (some are in production as we speak!). For a limited time, after a set purchase price has been reached, I will be gifting clients with their own iPhone/iPad app that is an album of their portraits. I have received a huge positive response so far from my testers and it’s such a cool way to show off your portraits while on the go (at work, over lunch,etc.).
Business will be officially back in full swing January 4th when I welcome Mr. Sebastian back for his 3 month mini baby plan session. Until then, I will be finishing up Baby Logan’s edits and finalizing my 2013 pricing which will be in effect very early in 2013. There is still time to lock in 2012 pricing by using the contact form and booking your session ASAP! Please remember that maternity sessions are photographed 28-36 weeks into your pregnancy and newborn sessions are conducted 6-12 days after birth. Therefore, it’s important that you contact me while you are still pregnant (or at least 3-4 weeks in advance of your desired session) to get on the calendar and save your spot! I hate having to turn people away due to lack of availability so make sure you contact me early! Happy New Year everyone! :)
