Courtney & Camden | Raleigh Children’s and Family Photographer

Such a special session this past Spring of one of my favorite little subjects!!  Camden was my first “posed” newborn baby back in 2011.  His mama is one of my good friends who graciously and trustingly let me photograph her brand new baby so that I could get some experience with newborns.  Camden was already a few weeks old when I photographed him, but he was such a good little baby.  I will never forget that experience and those images that started my love for posed newborn photography.  I started out using natural light and that session was such a thrill for me.  I was so pleased with how my images had turned out after countless hours (months!) of studying everything about newborn photography online.  I have photographed Camden throughout his first two years and it has been such a joy seeing him grow up…especially since he is one of Dylan’s little buddies and close to our hearts.

These images were taken as Camden’s “two” year photos (he turned 2 in July).  I saw this field blooming with little yellow flowers about a week before his session and just knew this is where I wanted to photograph him!  I just love this location (even without the flowers as they are only in bloom a few short weeks)!  I loved being able to capture the adoration and love between Camden and his mommy.  Camden definitely was a runner, so I had to put my camera bag down and chase after him for most of the session (talk about a work out – toddlers are FAST!).  Just recently Camden’s mommy posted her new wall art on Facebook…she ended up blowing some of them up huge as canvases and hung them prominently in her home (just love seeing my clients end result to their sessions!!).  I know she is so happy to have these images captured and now she gets to enjoy them every day she passes by them.
